Unboxing Your Butcher Block
- Carefully remove all packaging materials
- Inspect the butcher block for any shipping damage
- Allow the wood to acclimate to your home's environment for 24-48 hours before finishing
- Keep the block flat during acclimation to prevent warping
Finishing Your Butcher Block
Your butcher block arrives unfinished, giving you complete control over the final look. Here's how to finish it:
For Food Contact Surfaces
Use food-safe finishes only:
- Food-grade mineral oil
- Butcher block oil or conditioner
- Beeswax-based finishes
- Tung oil (pure, not modified)
For Non-Food Surfaces (Desks, Shelves, etc.)
You can use any finish:
- Polyurethane (water-based or oil-based)
- Wood stains for custom colors
- Lacquer or varnish
- Paint
How to Apply Finish
- Sand lightly with 220-grit sandpaper if needed (surface is pre-sanded)
- Clean the surface with a tack cloth to remove dust
- Apply finish following the manufacturer's instructions
- Allow to dry completely between coats
- Apply multiple coats for best protection (2-3 coats recommended)
- Lightly sand between coats with fine-grit sandpaper (320-grit)
Care & Maintenance
Do
- Clean with mild soap and water
- Dry immediately after cleaning
- Re-oil food surfaces regularly
- Use cutting boards on top for food prep
- Use coasters and trivets
Don't
- Submerge in water
- Put in dishwasher
- Place hot pots directly on surface
- Use harsh chemicals
- Leave standing water
Natural Wood Characteristics
As a natural wood product, variations in grain, color, and mineral streaks are normal and add to the unique character of your piece. Wood may expand or contract slightly with humidity changes - this is normal behavior for solid wood products.

Setup Instructions

Choose a Location
Place the lamp on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable materials.

Adjust the Height
Loosen the adjustment knob and slide the pole to position the lamp at the proper height above your candle jar. The bulb should be 2-4 inches above the wax surface.

Place Your Candle
Remove the candle lid and place the jar candle centered under the lamp. Works best with jar candles.

Connect to Power
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

Turn On & Adjust
Use the dimmer knob to turn on and adjust the brightness/heat level.
Using the Dimmer Control
- Turn On: Rotate the dimmer knob clockwise from the "off" position
- Adjust Brightness: Continue rotating to increase brightness and heat
- Lower Settings: Gentle warming, subtle scent release
- Higher Settings: Faster melting, stronger fragrance
- Turn Off: Rotate counter-clockwise to the "off" position
Using the 12-Hour Timer
The timer function allows for automatic shut-off:
- Press the timer button to activate
- Select your desired duration (up to 12 hours)
- The lamp will automatically turn off when time expires
- Press again to cancel the timer
Bulb Replacement
- Unplug the lamp and allow it to cool completely (at least 30 minutes)
- Carefully unscrew the old bulb counter-clockwise
- Install the new bulb by screwing it in clockwise
- Do not touch the glass of the new bulb with bare hands (use a cloth)
- Use only compatible halogen warming bulbs
Tips for Best Results
Height Matters
Keep the bulb 2-4 inches above the wax for optimal melting.
Melting Time
Allow 20-30 minutes for the wax pool to form and fragrance to release.
Candle Selection
Works best with jar candles. Remove the lid before warming.
Extend Candle Life
Candles last longer when warmed vs. burned with a flame.
Cleaning & Care
- Unplug and let cool completely before cleaning
- Wipe the base and shade with a soft, dry cloth
- Do not use water or cleaning solutions on electrical components
- Clean the glass shade with glass cleaner (when removed from lamp)
- Dust regularly to maintain appearance
